In our words:

Nubiyan Twist brings you an exciting mix of jazz, afrobeat and soul that plays with complex rhythms and fresh sounds. The nine musicians from Leeds create a combination of British jazz art and global grooves, where you can also discover their new line-up 🪩

In the organizer's words:

Expect ultra-precise interplay and unstoppable energy when Nubiyan Twist bring their electrifying blend of jazz, afrobeat, soul, hip-hop and dance music to the Gretchen stage with a brand new line-up and live show.

Known for their powerful big band sound and infectious performances, the nine-piece collective combines global grooves with UK jazz finesse, fiery percussion and deep, infectious rhythms.

Following acclaimed collaborations with music legends such as Nile Rodgers, Tony Allen, Seun Kuti and Fatoumata Diawara, the band continues to cross borders and unite cultures, generations and genres - with music that celebrates connection, freedom and groove.

Formed in Leeds and now one of the UK's most renowned live acts, Nubiyan Twist can look back on MOBO and AIM Award nominations, sell-out tours and praise from NPR, Rolling Stone, Jazzwise and Bandcamp Daily.
