Europe is coming under increasing pressure. Major powers such as the USA, China and Russia have a great interest in dividing the old continent and keeping it small. At the same time, the frequent disagreements between the member states are weakening the EU's ability to act. "Can Europe still be saved? History - present and future." On the occasion of his 80th birthday and at the invitation of Neue Westfälische, the long-standing MEP from OWL, Elmar Brok (CDU), will discuss this topic with his opponent Reinhard Bütikofer (MEP/Greens) on May 19 at 7 pm in the lobby.
Admission is from 18:30. Visitors will have the opportunity to ask the politicians questions. NW editor-in-chief Andrea Rolfes and Carsten Heil will moderate the event.
