On May 17, 2025, the Open Space in Bochum will become the venue for "Objects in the Sky" - an interdisciplinary event between artistry and installation that takes an in-depth look at plural identities and the cultural and social contradictions of the performers.
"Objects in the Sky" combines contemporary circus techniques, sound collages and autofictional confrontations and hits the heart of the question: Who is actually allowed to be who they are? Migrant, queer, low-class, academic, anarchist - identities are never just one, but always plural.
Driven by queer, feminist and post-migrant critiques of assimilation and the exploitation of self and others in the cultural sector, "Objects in the Sky" takes up current discourses and transforms them into a circus collage using powerful imagery.
With the kind support of KunstKartell e.V., sponsored by the Fonds Darstellende Künste with funds from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.
