It is with great joy, but also not without doubt and definitely with a good deal of inner turmoil, that we stand here before you today, under these circumstances, which - and this cannot be emphasized enough - could certainly be different.

We have come together to cautiously approach the question of what we are actually doing here.

And while here and there an answer may or may not emerge and clarity respectfully beckons from afar, what really matters is that we are ready to start, to begin, to create the possibility that maybe someday...

A contemporary circus show that deals with the state of things and therefore inevitably questions itself.

It is with great pleasure, moderate confusion, and a certain unavoidable sense of denial that we stand before you here, today under these circumstances, which, as we should remind ourselves regularly, could be otherwise.

We have come together to address, to approach, and perhaps to circle gently around the question of... what exactly we are doing here.
