Over a period of two years, he accompanies their everyday life and shows unique and emotional insights into an otherwise hermetically sealed world. OF FATHERS AND SONS: THE CHILDREN OF KALIFAT was nominated for an OSCAR in the documentary category in 2019. It was screened at over 100 festivals worldwide and won more than 30 awards. Talal Derki's new documentary won the prestigious World Cinema Documentary Grand Jury Prize at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival and the Fritz Gerlich Prize at the 36th Munich Film Festival, among others.
