Offene Ateliers Dortmund

For the seventh time, the citywide Open Studios event will take place in Dortmund on July 4–5 and July 11–12, 2026. Every two years, artists and galleries open their doors, offering a rare opportunity to gain insight into their workspaces, studios, artworks, and creative processes.
To give visitors the chance to discover as many locations as possible, the Open Studios are spread over two consecutive weekends. For this event, the Dortmund metropolitan area will be divided into a western and an eastern section.

Visitors can expect a diverse range of encounters and insights into a wide variety of spaces and locations—from hidden backyards to unique studio buildings. 

Both renowned and lesser-known artists and creative professionals from various genres offer insights into their personal working methods and look forward to conversations with interested visitors.

Experiencing the conditions under which art is created and engaging directly with the artists—that’s what makes the Open Studios so special. Away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, there’s room for dialogue, new perspectives, and, last but not least, the opportunity to discover and purchase works of art.

west of Evinger Straße, Münsterstraße, and Leopoldstraße from the city center: Hansastraße, Hohe Straße, Ardeystraße, and Hagener Straße

July 11 and 12, 2026 – EAST
East of Evinger Straße, Münsterstraße, and Leopoldstraße; from the city center: Hansastraße, Hohe Straße, Ardeystraße, and Hagener Straße

Saturday 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Sunday 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

At 79 locations, 127 studios will open their doors, and 179 artists will present their work to you!
