Open studios Dortmund 2024
138 artists and galleries at 81 locations in Dortmund - free entry
The Open Studios Dortmund will take place for the sixth time on October 5/6 and 12/13, 2024. Every two years, artists and galleries offer a look behind the scenes as part of the event - into workspaces and studios, at works and working methods.
The event takes place over two weekends to give visitors the opportunity to visit as many of the numerous locations throughout Dortmund as possible. Guests can expect a wide range of encounters and insights.
To the east and west of the B54, the doors will open to studios, workshops and galleries in private homes, cozy shared studios and larger studio buildings. Visitors can also discover tranquil backyards and industrial areas typical of the Ruhr region.
Renowned and even lesser-known artists provide impressions of their personal creative culture. The spectrum ranges from painting, graphics, drawing, sculpture, objects and installations to photography, video and film as well as digital media, sound art and performance.
Seeing the conditions under which a work of art is created and seeking a direct exchange with the artist is what makes the Dortmund Open Studios so fascinating. Away from everyday working life, there is space for dialog and the opportunity to expand your own art collection.
The participating artists and galleries are looking forward to your visit!
