This Saturday, residency artist Sarah Lüdemann (Beauham) will open her studio for you. Take a look behind the scenes of her three-week stay as part of the exchange between the Künstlerhaus Bremen and Künstlerhaus Dortmund.
About the artist
Temporality of (physical) structures that find their expression in sculptures, installations and texts. Her works are fed by her preoccupation with systems and their failures or mutations. Content from linguistics, neuroscience, bioengineering or design flows into these works without ever being illustrated. Rather, a fascination for the grotesque, the ambiguous, the absurd or the abject speaks from this examination. Found objects and materials, such as foam mattresses, packaging materials, frames or bones, which are accompanied by clay sculptures, paper or video works and are often recycled after the exhibition is over, are an important part of the works with their attachments and peculiarities. Since 2020, publications have also played a role as a component of sculpture (Sausage Operations Short Manual), an extension of the exhibition (Memoric pursuit) or as a fundus (The beau ham).
