ÖFFENTLICHE FÜHRUNG durch die Dauerausstellung

The former headquarters of J. A. Topf & Sons is a historical site of industry's complicity in the Holocaust. The company provided the SS with powerful ovens for the disposal of corpses in the concentration camps and did not hesitate to supply technical solutions to "optimize" the killing in the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp.

The tour, which includes parts of the outdoor area and the permanent exhibition "Technicians of the 'Final Solution'", focuses on an examination of key historical documents. It looks at the motives of the company bosses, engineers, fitters and merchants involved as well as their options for action. Visitors have the opportunity to learn about the history of Topf & Sons and its business relationships with the SS and to reflect on the question raised by the exhibition about the responsibility of individuals in their everyday working lives.
