No one has ever sung the words "sex with me is mediocre" as lasciviously and wonderfully as Kaya Wilkins aka Okay Kaya. They come from the song "Asexuell Wellbeing" from her 2022 album "Watch This Liquid Pour Itself", which is beloved by fans and critics alike. The song and the sentence sum up her trademark, so to speak: Okay Kaya manages to capture expectations, feelings, existential fears and unglamorous insights in delicate and powerful-sounding songs. As a cherry on top, these songs often also crackle with sometimes very subtle, sometimes wonderfully crude humor. Her albums "Both" (2018), "Watch This Liquid Pour Itself" (2020), "Surviving Is The New Living" (2020), "SAP" (2022), which she wrote, performed, engineered and produced entirely on her own, and the compilation "The Incompatible Okay Kaya", released in 2021, would make a fascinating showcase of her work alone. But under the name Kaya Wilkens, you can also add a modeling career and some fascinating film roles: First and foremost her portrayal of Anja in Joachim Trier's mystery thriller "Thelma" .

Okay Kaya is reportedly currently working on material for another album - and is apparently also building a bridge to her film work. On June 27, she will be giving exclusive insights as part of a very special movie night. She will be showing her video project "GROKE" exclusively at Berlin's Colosseum cinema, answering questions from the audience and also giving a live performance.
