ONE OF THESE performs “Meddle”
It’s “Early Years” time again at the Jazzkeller. Following their acclaimed concerts featuring the “Early Years” and “Live At Pompeii” programs, the band is now returning to the Jazzkeller with a new program.
In 1971, Pink Floyd released the album *Meddle*. What neither the band nor anyone else knew at the time was that it would be the band’s last album before they became superstars with *The Dark Side of the Moon* and everything changed. *Meddle* bridges the gap between the psychedelic Pink Floyd and
the rock band they would later become.
One Of These plays the entire album, including, of course, the better-known songs like “Echoes” or “One Of These Days,” but also quieter tracks like “Pillow Of Winds.” In the first part of the concert, they once again unearth old, lesser-known gems from the years 1967 to 1972—
that is, everything from before their huge success with *The Dark Side of the Moon*.
This concert, featuring the complete music from *Meddle*, will thus be a very special experience for die-hard Pink Floyd fans and for those who “only” know the big Pink Floyd hits and are curious about the music the band played before that.
One Of These is considered the most versatile Pink Floyd tribute band in this country, presenting the British band’s music in a wide variety of interesting facets. The tribute lineup performs complete albums (Dark Side of the Moon / Wish You Were Here / Animals / The Wall), and
there’s a “History” program. Additionally, there’s an “Unplugged” program featuring a lineup expanded to include strings, clarinet, and percussion, as well as a program with a full orchestra.
With their deep appreciation for the British band’s work, One Of These has built a fan base that extends beyond North Rhine-Westphalia—fans who eagerly attend the band’s live performances time and again, not only because of Pink Floyd’s music but also because of the musicians’ dedication.
