"Blue Moon" or "The Moon in a Man" - An anniversary revue for Hanns Dieter Hüsch and Mel Tormé (*1925) on their 100th birthday with swing, profundity and humor - by and with Matthias Held.
Cabaret and vocal jazz - these two heroes shaped their genre like hardly anyone else: Hanns Dieter Hüsch and Mel Tormé, who would both have turned 100 in 2025. One is well-known, popular and controversial everywhere in this country, the other is virtually unknown. In the USA, it would be the other way around. Matthias Held, himself a jazz singer and song cabaret artist, remembers Hüsch and Tormé in his tribute program, explores their very different life stories, tells of the influences, successes and adversities of the two in their time, puts Hüsch's scat skills and Tormé's humorous talent to the test. There are Hüsch gems and, of course, Mel Tormé's classics and more.
It plays: Matthias Held (keys, vocals, recitation, fun facts)
