Open Air Kino: BOB LE FLAMBEUR (OmU)
In the organizer's words:
BOB LE FLAMBEUR (THREE O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING)
FRA 1956, 102 min, Original Version with Subtitles
Starring Roger Duchesne, Isabelle Corey, Daniel Cauchy
Jean-Pierre Melville’s first film in the gangster genre, which in many ways recalls his final film (THE BOSS/UN FLIC, 1972). The aging gangster Bob plans one last heist, but it doesn’t go as he imagined. The film is rightly considered an influential precursor to the Nouvelle Vague. As always with Melville, it deals with existential themes such as trust, loneliness, and disappointment.
