Open Air Kino: König der Mittelstürmer (1927)

With "König der Mittelstürmer", we are bringing the second soccer film from 1927 back to the big screen. Despite its great public success at the time, the film fell into oblivion and was even considered lost for a long time. The film is about Tull Harper, the leading player of the Alemania soccer club. He refuses to let his father, a consul and mogul of a wholesale company, stop him from pursuing his passion for soccer. Tull falls in love with the daughter of a major American oil magnate, but she suspects that he is only interested in her money. So she buys his father's company to get revenge on him. The son's true love is soccer, and from the very first moment the movie is gripped by soccer fever.

The main character of the film is a tribute to Tull Harder, a well-known and popular player for the Hamburg sports club and the national team in the 1920s. He would later make a career as a concentration camp guard.

A ticket is required for this event. You can purchase tickets online in advance or, if not fully booked, at the Box Office.
