In the organizer's words:
JB Patersonis a critically acclaimed folk musician from Cedar Creek in Queensland, Australia. Often compared to legends such as Neil Young, Bob Dylan, and Townes Van Zandt, he has built a consistently independent career with great originality and runs a self-sufficient recording studio in a rural area near Brisbane.
With three self-produced albums to date—which have received heavy airplay on Australian radio stations—his narrative songwriting and authentic musicality have taken him across the country, from intimate club gigs to festival stages.
In 2025, he released the album*Whole World’s Gone Mad, And So Have I*. On this album, Paterson breaks new ground, combining astute social observations and expansive narrative forms with his signature DIY sound. In contrast to the softer tones of its predecessor, *Springtime is Coming*, this work is rawer, more direct, and more contemplative. The album was recorded in his solar-powered cabin in Cedar Creek, supported by the dynamic contributions of his band.
He is joined by Irish indie-folk musician Brandon Watson (The Ocelots).
