After a bombastic start last year, we are pleased to offer you the second OpenFire Festival on June 28, 2025 with a hammer line-up - Umsonst & Draußen at Reutlingen's echaz.Hafen!
BETTEROV
Betterov is still an unmistakable indie style that seems to glitter solemnly despite its gruffness, countering cool dark wave elements with large, ceremonious melodic arcs and convincing with sad, beautiful dynamics. In 2022, Betterov released "OLYMPIA", a universally applauded top 5 album, and in October a deluxe version including new tracks and guest contributions from Paula Hartmann, Blumengarten and Provinz made Betterov famous beyond the German indie scene. In 2022, he won the Prize for Pop Culture, played at Late Night Berlin, Inas Nacht and Studio Schmitt and topped off a packed festival summer with a sold-out headlining tour. After that, things went quiet in the public sphere for a while, while in his room the decision grew to place his own upbringing more offensively than ever at the center of a new large-scale musical project. At the end of this journey is an eagerly awaited second album that feels much more focused than its predecessor. It documents its protagonist's brawl with internalized feelings of home - and a bittersweet coming home. At the same time, it tells of what happened before - of serpentine biographies, of flight, of barbed wire, of binoculars, of a self-proclaimed peace state that rose from ruins and left ruins behind. In 2025, Betterov could only be heard solo on the piano on selected dates - and at the OpenFire Festival with a full line-up!

ELI PREISS
Eli Preiss from Vienna moves far away from common genre conventions and redefines music in her very own way. With her debut album "LVL UP", Eli Preiss already attracted attention in the German-speaking world and established herself as a versatile musician. Instead of following familiar paths, Eli Preiss breaks with expectations and manages to combine deep emotions, personal experiences and a mix of hip hop, club sounds and R&B to create a captivating and refreshing soundscape that skillfully balances between underground and mainstream. 2024 is a year of reinvention. With "fuck (ich liebe dich)", an album was released in May which, in addition to the big themes such as love & heartbreak, also addresses Eli's inner turmoil, vulnerability and insecurities.
