artburst berlin e.V. opens the exhibition "brennen glühen flirren" on October 02, 2024 at the gallery erstererster in Berlin.

In the exhibition we combine 5 positions with different levels of meaning of heat. Because we encounter heat in so many facets: as a result of climate change, for example, not only heatwaves and forest fires occur more frequently, but also floods and hurricanes. And when things get "hot" between two people, it can be due to sexual attraction or deep aversion. This is expressed linguistically when we call someone we find attractive "hot" or euphemistically refer to an argument as a "heated discussion". This contradiction in the human perception of heat becomes the unifying element in the exhibition at the art space erstererster in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg.

The "Heat" project is designed as a double exhibition: In the fall exhibition, the focus will be on the causes and manifestations of heat. In spring 2025, the focus will then be on dealing with heat and its consequences.
