Opening Event "Mehr als eine Realität - Queere Persepektiven in der Schausammlung" im Landesmuseum Württemberg
In the organizer's words:
Experience the Württemberg State Museum in a whole new way and join us in celebrating the opening of“More Than One Reality—Queer Perspectives in the Permanent Collection”! Together with queer artists Ida Liliom, Alisha Soraya, and Melissa Schlecht, we invite you to discover artistic installations in the permanent collection that challenge conventions, are fun, and stir emotions. Familiar exhibits will appear in a whole new light, revealing stories that have long been overlooked, hidden, or left untold.
Here’s what to expect:
Artistic interventions: Amid burial goods from the Early Middle Ages, empty display cases, and familiar narratives about King Charles of Württemberg, new perspectives on the region’s history emerge.
Exciting panel discussion: Karl-Heinz Steinle from the University of Stuttgart will speak at 8:00 p.m. about queer regional history. He’ll shed light on stories that have long been hidden or overlooked.
Surprising performances: Experience live art right in the permanent collection.
Beats & Drinks in the Castle Courtyard: DJOVA kicks things off at 8 p.m. with a mix of ’90s dance, hip-hop, and R&B—nostalgic and modern at the same time!
Starting at 9:30 p.m., headliner DJ Afropunk brings Afro, dancehall, and club sounds to the castle. Her sets embody empowerment and pure energy!
Summer vibes: The museum café and the Principe coffee roastery will be serving cool drinks and refreshments all night long.
Come on by and celebrate with us!
Free admission. It pays to arrive early: The first 300 guests will receive a free drink and delicious snacks!
