Classic gypsy jazz in the spirit of Django Reinhardt

This extraordinary ensemble combines handmade, classic gypsy jazz and swing at the highest musical level. Virtuosity, authenticity and deeply rooted tradition meet timeless elegance and rousing joy of playing, virtuoso solos meet a cohesive ensemble sound. After a long break, the four-piece formation is celebrating its first public concert in Bayreuth.

Orlando Wiegand, style-defining guitarist of the gypsy jazz scene and member of the Cosmos Sinti Band, will be playing solo guitar. He brings authentic, traditionally rooted gypsy jazz with elegance, fire and emotional depth.

Lucio Wiegand on double bass forms the foundation of the ensemble. With his precise timing, warm tone and confident groove, he lends the music stability and dancing lightness at the same time.

Hugo Richter from Dortmund is one of the outstanding accordionists in Europe and has already performed at international festivals and with well-known jazz greats. Here he also accompanies on the piano. Virtuoso, multi-faceted and harmonically brilliant.

Last but not least is Julian Vau on drums. He is one of the hottest drummers on the jazz and gypsy jazz scene. Dynamic, tasteful and highly musical with a modern feel for swing.
