NW 2024, 110 min., OmU, FSK open, director: Dag Johan Haugerud, with: Ella Øverbye, Ane Dahl Torp, Selome Emnetu and others.
Johanne falls in love for the first time, with her teacher. She writes down her intense fantasies and feelings so as not to forget them. When her mother and grandmother, both writers, read the texts, they are initially shocked by the intimate content, but soon recognize the literary potential. As they debate whether to publish it, all three women are confronted with their own unfulfilled dreams and longings. It is about reading and writing and the power of words over images.
It tells of love, longing and dreams, and questions identity, gender and sexuality. With fascinating characters and clever dialogs, utopias are imagined of how we could live together. Oslo Stories: DREAMS was awarded the Golden Bear for Best Film at the Berlinale 2025.
