OTRO-RIOJA - Rioja einmal anders in zehn Berliner Weinbars und Restaurants

Rioja, famous above all for its great red wines, reveals its lesser-known side in Berlin in June. For two weeks, ten selected restaurants and wine bars in the capital will become ambassadors for the diversity of Rioja. Interested wine lovers can get to know selected white, rosé and sparkling wines from the region alongside a wide variety of red wines.

Under the motto "OTRO RIOJA - Rioja with a difference", ten wine bars and restaurants have been selected by the region's association, the Consejo Regulador DOCa Rioja, to highlight the different facets of this red wine region. Even experienced wine fans are often unaware that excellent sparkling wines and rosés also come from the Spanish wine region. White Rioja wines have also been experiencing a renaissance in recent years, from spicy Reserva and Gran Reserva wines to parcel wines that capture the unique terroir. And that is exactly what these weeks are all about: making new and unexpected wine styles accessible within the region and bringing the wines into the glasses of connoisseurs for a wide variety of occasions.

The wines are offered by the glass or bottle in the participating restaurants and bars and can be sampled on their own or as an accompaniment to food. The contact persons will provide the appropriate wine knowledge on site.

The campaign will take place for two weeks around "La Rioja Day" on June 9th. From June 7 to 23, 2024, interested guests will have the opportunity to enjoy the wines of Spain's most renowned region in a relaxed atmosphere. The campaign will be accompanied by an extensive social media campaign offering insights and background information on the region as well as on the selected restaurants and wine bars. Rioja once again presents itself as a versatile wine region that goes far beyond its famous red wines. This rich diversity will be brought to life during the campaign to introduce curious explorers to the fascinating world of the different Rioja wine styles.
