Overkill - thrash metal pioneers from New Jersey

The American band Overkill is one of the most influential representatives of thrash metal. Founded in New Jersey in 1980, the group led by singer Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth and bassist D.D. Verni quickly made a name for themselves on the international metal scene. With aggressive riffs, high tempos and an unmistakable voice, Overkill shaped the sound of an entire generation.

With albums such as Feel the Fire (1985), Taking Over (1987) and The Years of Decay (1989), the band established itself as a permanent fixture in the genre. Despite numerous line-up changes, the band's uncompromising style remained intact for decades. To this day, Overkill stands for energetic thrash metal, characterized by technical precision and raw intensity.

Even after more than four decades of band history, Overkill is still active, releasing new music and thrilling fans worldwide with powerful live shows. This makes the band one of the longest-lived and most enduring acts in the thrash metal scene.
