Ten years ago, Germany opened its doors and hearts to millions of refugees. 2015 vs. 2025 - What has happened 10 years on and what still needs to be done?
Together with our guests Anna Punke-Dresen from "Hamburger* mit Herz" and kohero author Maryam Jamalzada, we would like to start a conversation. Afterwards, we would like to open up the space for your thoughts, experiences and questions.
Hamburger* mit Herz e.V. is a non-profit organization that works with around 250 volunteers to integrate refugees and enable social participation. People with a migration or refugee background are actively involved in the projects in order to offer them a platform to contribute their own ideas and impulses. Among other things, they offer language courses and cafés, empowerment courses and a tandem program.
Maryam Jamalzada fled to Germany from Afghanistan in 2015. She herself says that she lives "somewhere between her origins and her future, between home and what is yet to come". She is now studying sociology and has found a new home here in Hamburg.
