In the organizer's words:
For thePanoramaevent series, the Kunsthaus Hamburg will stay open later. Starting at 6 p.m., the foyer will become a stage for a varied music program curated byNguyen Phuong-Dan. For the August edition, he has invited the artist and musicianCwiejung, who uses drawings as random generators for tonal ghost grids and scales. The resulting sounds range from arrhythmic, minimalist tonal patterns to resonance fields and noise. The concert will be accompanied by a DJ set byCharlie Spiegelfeld. She is an artist, curator, and member ofthe HALLO:Radio collective. Her sets revolve around percussion, layered rhythms, and music spanning cumbia, Afrobeat, ambient, and synth-pop.
The event will alsofeaturethe opening of the next“Stille Post.” Free admission to Melike Kara’sexhibition“Whispers”isavailablethroughout the evening. Cold drinks will be available at the bar.
Thanks to this format, established in 2024, the foyer of the Kunsthaus Hamburg is increasingly becoming an open space for people to come together. The program there emphasizes the Kunsthaus’s role as a spatial and discursive hub within the city while also drawing on the institution’s early years, as it was founded in 1962 on the initiative of regional artists. In the Kunsthaus’s original building, which was once located at Ferdinandstor, the in-house venue Panorama—with its view of the Binnenalster—served as a place for visitors to relax and socialize. The title“Panorama”not onlyrefersto the building’s physical location but also alludes to the breadth of the visual and auditory field of perception as well as a diverse spectrum of artistic perspectives.
