Papierschöpfen: Grundkurs
In the organizer's words:
Does old paper belong in the trash? Not a chance! In our upcycling workshop, we’ll show you how old paper can be given new life and transformed into something beautiful. But we won’t be using just any scraps—we’ll be working with used paper from the German National Library. In this case: old loan slips that are no longer in use and would otherwise end up in the trash.
With this as our starting point, we’ll get to work, and step by step, new writing material will take shape in the museum’s workshop. From shredding and mixing to forming and drying: Together, we’ll use a “paper mold” and a paper-making sieve to create unique sheets of paper. Depending on the season, the new sheets of paper are enhanced with natural materials, dyes, or other ingredients that give the final product a special touch.
