Everyone who was a child a few years ago, and some who are still children, knows "Emil und die Detektive", "Das doppelte Lottchen", "Pünktchen und Anton" and many of the other wonderful children's books by Erich Kästner. And it should stay that way!

So how would it be if Erich Kästner came back for a day to tell stories? Because he has a lot to tell, Erich Kästner. Not just his stories and his poems. Also about himself. What it was like to be a child over 120 years ago.

That's why Johannes Kirchberg now slips into the role of Erich Kästner and takes you into his world. And he talks about his childhood in Dresden, a wild chase, traveling, school and why he wrote children's books in the first place.

Johannes Kirchberg has been successfully performing musical-literary evenings for many years. Now, together with director Katinka Springborn, he has brought a program for "people who no longer grow up" to the stage. Because: "Only those who grow up and remain a child are human."
