Pension Schöller - Komödie von Wilhelm Jacoby/Carl Laufs - Ein Inszenierung des TheaterPACK

Retiree Philipp Klapproth is in the mood for spectacular experiences in the big city, which he can show off at home at the provincial regulars' table. When he hears what an extravagant experience soirees in a mental hospital are, he asks his nephew Alfred to take him to one.

Alfred, whose business plans depend on the financial favor of his wealthy uncle, has no idea how to go about it and turns to his friend Kissling for help. He has the idea that saves the day: to spend the Pension Schöller on what he needs. Its guests are not mentally ill, but they are all so eccentric that they could easily pass for lunatics.
So the three of them find themselves at a social evening in a deliberate family boarding house and both Klapproth's "misinterpretation" of events and the quirky quirks of the boarding house guests set off a firework display of absurd situations. Amidst the panopticon of supposed asylum inmates - from the wannabe actor with a speech impediment to the choleric retired major and the drama-addicted writer - Klapproth is torn between the utmost amusement and sheer fear.
He returns home highly satisfied - unaware that the final chapter of his big city adventure is still to come ...
