There are places where the darkness is not threatening, but honest. Permanently Shadowed opens up such a space - a space for all those who know that melancholy is not a defect, but a depth in which one can breathe. This night is a celebration of shadows, a defiant rebellion against all that is smooth and shiny. The invited artists move between sound art, drone and harsh noise, but at their core they work with something fragile: the feeling that arises when you stare into the darkness for too long and suddenly realize that it is looking back. Their sounds are like wounded landscapes, sometimes roaring, sometimes whispering but always radically honest. Frequencies that tear. Pauses that burn. Sounds that crackle, bubble, mill, that turn the inside out. In the midst of this eruptive soundscape, the works of Hamburg artist Leon Winkel stand like an unexpected, almost vulnerable counter-moment - images like shimmering scars, like surfaces that conceal something. An evening that scratches, glows and pulsates - melancholic, lonely, beautiful in its own way.

Baphomet Vernacular is an experimental-noise sound artist from Mexico based in Berlin. Her work oscillates in the sonic debris field between order and collapse. A contrast between acoustic elements and technological decay, navigating the industrial echoes of Berlin while drawing on the vibrancy of Mexican roots. Baphomet's sound is constructed from a palette of self-made electronic instruments, the harsh textures of urban trash and forgotten materials; and the unsettling, organic voice of the German Krummhorn. A deliberate act of sonic collage and creative transgression. Sound treated as a physical, mutable substance. Raw and unstable noise, the analog echo of digital alienation. It refuse acts as both instrument and metaphor, creating rhythms and drones that hum with the residue of consumer culture. The Krummhorn, an instrument steeped in Medieval tradition, is warped and deconstructed, its eery voice juxtaposed against the electronic static, creating a dialog between ancient memory and future dissonance. Embracing glitch, distortion, and instability as essential components of contemporary experience, challenging the pursuit of perfect sound.

Leon Winkel, aka Trees on T (Testosterone), captures the raw energy of nature in his paintings. Organic structures such as trees and branches are his main motif. The paintings are mostly monochrome, always abstract and consist of several layers of graphite, gouache and plaster on paper. A carrier material that ultimately looks like "tortured paper", as if it had been damaged by the weather. The dynamics of the compositions move between light and shadow and seem to struggle for a fragile balance. Sometimes it leans more towards harmony, sometimes more clearly towards dissonance. Walks and reconnecting with nature are closely linked to the painting process.
