During Passiontide, we await Bach's dramatic 'St. John Passion'.
Passion' . It is the earliest of the Passion music preserved today
and was performed four times during Bach's lifetime after its premiere in 1724, most recently in 1749. Each time slightly altered, we will hear a mixture of versions 1 and 4, which corresponds to the New Bach Edition.
