An extraordinary evening with an exceptional artist: Philipp Hochmair, the "Everyman of the heart", presents his unusual biography "Hochmair, wo bist du?", which is just like him: unconventional, irrepressible and willing to take risks, approachable and incomprehensible at the same time. It could also be called: "Who am I?" or: "I am at home in the energy of art!"
On the occasion of his recently published biography, the media from Stern to Spiegel, from the Süddeutsche Zeitung to the Neue Züricher Zeitung are going crazy. The book presentation with a four-piece band is guaranteed not to be a reading, but a parade ride through his life, and that means above all: through literature from Kafka to Goethe, from Kleist to the Brothers Grimm and "Jedermann", which he plays at the Salzburg Festival in front of an audience of over 3,000... a story that began at the Thalia Theater. Joachim Lux caught him on Salzburg's Domplatz in the summer and he accepted immediately. Hamburg and the Thalia Theater: his dream - literature his passion. Clear the stage for the literary punk!
But it doesn't always have to be the big stage. In 2012, we gave the aged Helmut Schmidt a present and transformed his living room into a stage for 2o spectators. But that's another story, perhaps Philipp Hochmair will tell it on stage.
Philipp Hochmair comes from Austria and is a student of Klaus Maria Brandauer. With his Franz Moor in Schiller's "The Robbers", Mephisto in the "Faust Marathon", Kafka's "Amerika", Kleist's "Broken Jug", the Brothers Grimm's "Puss in Boots" and, last but not least, with "Jedermann", he became an acclaimed Thalia Theater and Hamburg star. And now far, far beyond. He is also well known in film and television for "Die Wannseekonferenz", the series "Vorstadtweiber" and "Blind ermittelt", with another series currently in the pipeline
