The student initiative Öffentliche Philosophie Berlin is organizing the student lecture series in winter 2025/26: "Philosophy for All!". Students will present and discuss their socially relevant research in front of a philosophical and public audience. The lectures are accessible and exciting. All people who are interested in interesting perspectives and discussions are welcome - no prior knowledge is necessary! Admission is free of charge.

17:30-19:00 Workshop: "Constructive arguing - with philosophical tools" by Lara Dittmer-Bieleit, Leonard Stephan & Benjamin Küntzel

19:15-20:00 "Who owns the search for truth? - On the democratization of science" by Leo Hunke

20:15-21:00 "Longtermism - When foresight becomes a climate trap" by Sina Brinkmann

In the face of an increasingly polarizing discourse culture and the rise of fake news and bullshitting, the aim of the initiative is to bring the value of good argumentation back into focus. Philosophy deals with many socially relevant topics at a high level, but these often remain in the academic ivory tower. This is why the initiative aims to communicate philosophical content and methods to the public.
