Photophor are still a young but already distinctive project in the black scene. The duo formed in 2024 and have been pursuing a clear artistic vision ever since: dark soundscapes that are emotional, poetic and danceable at the same time. The band's name refers to the mysterious luminous organs of deep-sea creatures - an image that aptly describes the atmosphere of their music: dark, fascinating and interspersed with unexpected moments of light.

Together, singer and guitarist Asch and keyboardist and bassist Kate create melancholic soundscapes between dark electronics, driving beats and haunting guitars. Their lyrics address contemporary issues - from social change and digital alienation to personal vulnerability - and combine social observation with intense emotionality.

Photophor consciously avoid clear stylistic pigeonholes. Instead of orienting themselves towards existing bands, they develop their own sound: a mixture of dark melancholy, danceable heaviness and poetic expressiveness.
