PHRE Festival Opening: Hind Ennaira + Embryo

This is not a World Music Festival! This is PHRE.

Our summer festival is just around the corner! At PHRE 2024, we will be presenting local and international artists from August 1 to 31. 15 days, 30 bands and our favorite DJs. Summer atmosphere in the open air with food, drinks, singing and dancing along. Followed by a sparkling club feeling in the Import Export interior.

Hind Ennaira (Morocco)

Hind Ennaira is a Moroccan Gnawa musician. She immersed herself in this special musical genre at a young age, in a world that initially seemed only accessible to men. Today, Hind dominates the gnawa music scene, playing the guembri instrument and proving that this traditional Moroccan folklore is also for women. She is an expert in both traditional gnawa and fusion and has collaborated with jazz, Andalusian, East African and many other genres.

Embryo (Munich)

Embryo is a unique music collective from Munich that combines Kraut Rock Jazz, free improvisation, inner and non-European rhythms and sounds like no other. Embryo exists since 1969, spanning generations, genres and borders. An international collective that has evolved into a unique music project and has already played with Mal Waldron, Okay Temiz, Fela Kuti, Charlie Mariano and many others. Marja Burchard, daughter of founder Christian Burchard, took over the band she grew up in in 2015. Since then, Embryo has lived on with her, constantly searching for new sounds, rhythms and ideas from those who think differently.
