LAIR (Indonesia)

LAIR (pronounced "lah-eer", a local dialect for the Indonesian word "lahir", meaning "birth" or "to be born") is a 6-piece psych-soul/funk band from Jatiwangi, West Java, Indonesia. LAIR is lively, banging and honest. They take inspiration from the traditional Panturan Tarling, a music/performance art of the people on the north coast of West and Central Java. They use their music to describe life there. The feeling of salt in the humid air; the smallest drop of sweat running down the necks of truck drivers speeding along the hectic streets of Pantura; the posters of upcoming election candidates, the garish stickers adorning the windshields of public transportation; and above all, the scorching heat.

Hodo Gaia (Munich)

Summoned by the elders of krautrock and redefining their sound through occult rituals and ancient witchcraft, Hodo Gaia 保土谷化 give a first glimpse of a captivating soundscape with their debut single Collarbones. Motorik rhythm and insistent bass form the cauldron that contains a psychedelic brew with enchanting vocals floating on the surface. Influences and musical concepts of non-Western sounds enrich the flavor and round out the frenzy. Get high and calm down.
