Popp x Burchard x Geist (Munich, Dresden)

Moritz Simon Geist is a producer, musician and nerd. He builds techno robots. Robots so good that he has been invited to festivals in Korea (ZERO1NE) or to South by Southwest in Texas. He complements the live ensemble of Mouse of Mars and plays in philharmonic halls in Hamburg, Paris and Import Export. With us, Moritz meets Simon Popp and Marja Burchard. Simon Popp is one of the best drummers in our city, a virtuoso percussionist in love with sound. His bands are called "POPP", "9ms" and "Fazer". We know Marja Burchhard as a vibraphonist, trombonist, Rhodes player and vocalist with Embryo. Virtuoso, insatiable for new sounds and melodies, sometimes racy, sometimes delicate. The unique, unprecedented, unmissable meeting of these three exceptional artists promises a firework display of surprises and unique moments. Moritz will set up his robots, Simon will bring his percussion elements from all over the world, Marja will bring part of her huge collection of instruments and then we'll be surprised. It will be exciting!

Fazer (Munich)

Fazer are Martin Brugger, Paul Brändle, Matthias Lindermayr, Simon Popp and Sebastian Wolfgruber. They met at the Munich University of Music. The Munich band will release their album 'Plex' on the indie label City Slang in early 2022 and have announced a tour. The unusual line-up combines a wide range of influences and draws on the immediacy of improvised music from jazz as the only genre to approach Fazer's music. The quintet's aesthetic is characterized by a wide range of influences, from the experimental pop music of Talk Talk to the Afrobeat of Fela Kuti, the Krautrock of Can and the dub techno of Rhythm & Sound.

dusty (Cologne)

Dusty, the creative mind and founder of the renowned Jazz & Milk label, has made a name for himself as a visionary DJ, producer, promoter and sound engineer, and has been traveling the world for 25 years, moving dance floors from London to New York and Manila to Johannesburg with an individual and positive twist. He is always looking for a distinctive sound that combines old and contemporary dance music. His repertoire ranges from jazz to soul, dub, Brazil, afrobeat, boogie, broken beat and house, always accompanied by a soulful touch.

Johannes Kuhn

Johannes Kuhn is an artist from Hamburg. With the BEEK collective, he runs a space for time-based media and sound. He has curated the Taxi Salon concert series at Import Export since 2024. His DJ sets synthesize influences from the spectrum of experimental music.
