"Siberia - the word makes everything it comes into contact with vibrate at a different pitch," wrote British journalist Sophy Roberts in her 2020 book "The Lost Pianos of Siberia". She follows the traces of old pianos that once found their way to the remotest corners of Siberia. Her explorations lead deep into the heart of the country's history and also open up a view of our present day. They bear witness to the great longing for cultural experience and humanity on a challenging journey. The actress Kerstin Schweers and the pianist and dancer Annalisa Derossi bring this special material to the stage in a scenic-musical reading. They tell of the power of music, the resilience of people and the deep desire for beauty and meaning, even in a hostile environment.
