A dark club somewhere in Chicago - just the right place to meet the three members of Pixel Grip. The US-American trio between club sound and avant-garde fascinates with hypnotic aesthetics and electrifying live performances. It's no wonder that a loyal cult audience has long since formed around the band.

The three got to know each other - where else - in the queer clubs of Chicago. Rita Lukea quickly found herself on the microphone, while Jonathon Freund (synthesizer) and Tyler Ommen (drums) not only worked on their instruments, but also on the production. And what a production: since the release of their debut "Heavy Handed" (2019), the band has earned a reputation as one of the most exciting formations in the EBM scene with their multi-layered synths, monumental beats and detailed melodies - only to push these boundaries again and again. Between industrial harshness, club euphoria and glittering pop, Freund and Ommen create the sound of Pixel Grip, while Lukea lends the band its unmistakable voice with her lyrics. Uncompromising, open and with haunting intensity, she writes about lust, power and liberation. The second album "Arena", released in 2021, is also strongly influenced by Chicago's queer subculture. With their new work "Percepticide: The Death of Reality", Pixel Grip have gone one step further. You can hear that the trio has grown - more mature, more precise, more professional. In terms of content, however, they remain true to themselves. Between income inequality, mental health and gun violence, they explore the dark side of club pop - simultaneously punky and poppy, raw and elegant, threatening and euphoric.

If you listen to Pixel Grip, you have to see them live. With raw energy and Rita Lukea's magnetic stage presence, they transform every performance into an intense, sweat-inducing club night. In spring 2026, Pixel Grip will be coming to Berlin for an exclusive show, right in the heart of European club culture.
