Falk Schwalbe is a poster artist and designer. He mainly works in the field of music and culture. His main focus is on designing and printing limited edition concert posters, so-called gig posters. In his screen printing workshop in Leipzig/Lindenau he also designs record covers, tapes, merchandise, backdrops and produces visuals.

In the exhibition, he is showing a selection of his posters from the last 14 years. The focus is on German bands that have toured Leipzig, such as Die Sterne, Beatsteaks, Donots, The Notwist, Trümmer, Pabst, Odd Couple, Hotel Rimini, Das Paradies and many more. There are around 50 motifs on display, all screen-printed, strictly limited, numbered and available for purchase.

The works are characterized by an analogue approach that makes the design process visible. This can be seen in the manual production of the exposure films and the strong link between design and technique. There is an organic and unpredictable component in this analog process, which is conducive to its reduced design.

The posters are defined by geometric shapes, typographic elements that function as both image and motif, and bright colors.
