Playground Relics
Elena Øhlander & Dosar1
Graffiti on canvas
For the "Long Night of Culture", Galerie Goethe45 opens the exhibition "Playground Relics" on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 4 pm. Elena Øhlander (b. 1988) is a visual artist and muralist whose interdisciplinary work explores themes
identity, memory and cultural hybridity through the lens of the Asian diaspora. Currently based in Jacksonville, Florida, Øhlander's work explores the complexities of heritage and selfhood, engaging in a visual dialog that combines historical narratives with contemporary issues. Dosar1, real name Christian Galski, is a German graffiti and street artist who has been active since 1999. His works are characterized by a distinctive 3D style, which is expressed both in lettering and in the design of characters. In his works, he often deals with socially critical messages and thus encourages reflection on current social issues. Galerie Goethe45 is bringing together works by both artists in Bremerhaven for this year's Long Night of Culture. During the course of the evening, joint works will be created in the backyard of Goethe 45, accessible to the public. DJ HOSTAGE (IFOS) will be playing strictly vinyl from 4 - 6 pm. It's worth stopping by! The exhibition is curated by Moritz Schmeckies and financed by the City of Bremerhaven's Department of Culture.
