PLAYTIME (OmU) im Cinema Futuro mit dem HFM Stuttgart

In the organizer's words:

Stuttgart has a diverse cultural and media landscape. What has been missing so far, however, is a public, central location for interactive engagement with audiovisual, transmedia media - a house for film and media. For now. Because in the heart of Stuttgart, the world of moving images is currently getting a headquarters: the House for Film and Media is coming in 2029.

The driving force behind this grand(est) project is the association Haus für Film und Medien Stuttgart e.V., an association of currently 25 non-commercial institutions based in Stuttgart and the region. This association, which is unique in Germany, unites the expertise and potential from the fields of education, higher education, media education, art, research, science, film and media festivals, the film and creative industries as well as cinema, media and interculture. The Haus für Film und Medien e.V. association is firmly anchored in Stuttgart's urban society, enabling participation and countless opportunities for cooperation - for example with Stuttgart's inner-city cinemas and Cinema Futuro.

On November 11, we will be showing PLAY TIME by Jacques Tati, who likes to focus on special places in his films, at Cinema Futuro. Places that create connections and initiate something play a central role in Tati's films - just as the Haus für Film und Medien will play a central role in the development of Stuttgart's city center and Leonhardsvorstadt.

As always, including supporting program and with subsequent discussion (for those who wish) over champagne and beer in the foyer of the Cinema in the inner city cinemas.
