Podiumsdiskussion und Vernissage: Auf dem Weg – Wie sprechen wir über Flucht?

In the organizer's words:

People are fleeing violence and war and are rarely welcome anywhere on their journey and after their arrival. Refugees experience exclusion and racism and are repeatedly instrumentalized as pawns of political interests.

Journalist Franziska Grillmeier and photographer Vincent Haiges have met refugees all over the world and documented their journeys. Both will talk about their motivation and approach to making the situation of the people concerned visible.

At the same time, we are opening the gallery exhibition FluchtWege by Franziska Grillmeier and Vincent Haiges. It brings various landscapes in which people move and persevere along the borders of the European Union into a dialog. The focus is on the daily (survival) lives of people on the run and their everyday lives away from the public eye.
