In recent years, the works of the Brücke artists and Ernst Ludwig Kirchner in particular have been subjected to critical scrutiny. Lisa Marei Schmidt, Director of the Brücke Museum in Berlin, argues in favor of taking responsibility today for past social imbalances - without finding the Brücke artists guilty and diminishing the appreciation of their art.

In conversation with Anna Luisa Walter, curator of the exhibition "Kirchner. Picasso" exhibition, the experts discuss their approach to Kirchner's works. As exhibition organizers, they are looking for a formula for dealing with difficult contexts of creation.
