In the organizer's words:

What can a poetry of the future be and what must it achieve? How does it distinguish itself from propaganda, or is it even a form of propaganda itself? What must language look like if it is to remain usable for a free society?

Uljana Wolf is a poet, translator and essayist. Her work is dedicated to the poetics and politics of translation and the ever-changing space between languages. She teaches poetry and translation at various institutions such as the Pratt Berlin Program, the Institute for Language Arts in Vienna and the German Literature Institute Leipzig. In 2022, she curated the international literature festival Poetica VI in Cologne with the title Sounding Archives - Poetry between Experiment and Document. In 2019, she held the August Wilhelm von Schlegel Visiting Professorship for Poetics of Translation at the Free University of Berlin. Her recent publications include Muttertask (2023); Kochanie, Today I Bought Bread (translated from the German by Greg Nissan, 2023); and as translator DMZ Colony by Don Mee Choi (2023) and Music for the Dead and Risen by Valzhyna Mort (co-translated with Katharina Narbutovic, 2021). Wolf lives and works in Berlin.
