Every two months, the Bargteheide Poetry Slam - word for word - brings the best poets in the country to the most likeable small town in northern Germany.
Poetry Slam is a competition in which poets compete against each other with their self-written texts. They are not allowed to use costumes or props, it's all about the performance and the spoken word. The texts are always different. Sometimes funny, sometimes serious. Sometimes rhymed, sometimes narrated. Sometimes highly lyrical, sometimes silly. In the end, the most competent jury of all - the audience - decides who wins the evening. You can't judge art, but we do it anyway.
The event will be hosted by the two poetry slammers and local heroes Hannes Maaß and Lennart Hamann.
