Hamburg's best poets come to the Central Committee

Hamburg has been regarded as the German-speaking poetry slam capital for many years. The biggest shows take place here, various German-speaking masters have made their first steps here and today the Hamburg slam scene is as lively as it has been for a long time. That's why this is the spotlight show for Hamburg's slam talents and superstars who make the city's poetry slam scene so great.

Here, dry North German humor meets stormy poetry, wistful harbour romance duels with absurd party stories. What remains at the end is a snapshot of the North German slam scene and an insight into what is yet to come! Four Hamburg poets will compete against each other on the evening, and one of them will emerge victorious in the end!

In a poetry slam, the participants compete against each other with texts they have written themselves. Whether funny or serious, rhymed or narrated, political or completely personal - everything is allowed at the slam. At the end, the most competent jury of all - the audience - decides who will win the evening and take home fame, honor and a medal.
