Poetry Slam Kreuzberg
In the organizer's words:
A dark corner, cold beer, and flickering neon lights above Kottbusser Tor.
Welcome to the Monarch, probably the roughest hangout on Berlin’s slam scene!
At Poetry Slam Kreuzberg, a new generation of slam newcomers is challenging the old guard.
Once a month, four ambitious newcomers from the Open List face off against four seasoned slam pros with hundreds of shows under their belts.
Six minutes, self-written texts, no props.
Who will come out on top:
The next generation with shaky hands and fresh ideas?
Or the slam veterans who’ve long known how to blow the audience away?
You decide.
The entrance to the Monarch is a bit hidden; at first glance, the door at Skalitzer Straße 134 looks like a normal front door.
Go inside anyway, head up to the first floor, and turn left.
That’s where the entrance to the Monarch is.
The venue is right next to the Kottbusser Tor U-Bahn station.
