Pointless
Supernova Era - the name of pointless' new single says it all: futuristic, epic, rousing and both glistening bright and dark at night. With a preview of their third album, pointless combine synthesizers and guitars, drums and beats to create the next evolution of their sound. Dancing or thinking is not a contradiction here, but can easily be combined into an "and".
From a half-ruined farmhouse in Neusüdende comes a sound that is sometimes reminiscent of Archive and sometimes of LCD Sonudsystem, here of The Cure and there of Joy Division - but is never retro, but something completely unique. Between tight wave, spherical space rock and a pinch of synthpop, the charismatic vocals negotiate how to move in a world without meaning without giving in.
The Nordwestzeitung found it "creepily good", the Kreiszeitung judged that "the chemistry just fits", the Rausgegangen editorial team saw pointless as "one of the most exciting bands currently making the stages in the northwest unsafe" and Oldenburg Magazin was enthusiastic about "always high intensity, irresistible groove and melodies that won't let you go.
Bremen singer-songwriter Karsten Block - also known as one half of the folk band Goldilocks and the Nightingale - will be playing 60s & 70s-inspired acoustic songs from his new solo album to open the show.
