Record Release Party, Opening Act: Rising Sons
PolaroX is proof that rock bands don’t get old—they sharpen their edge.
What began in 2000 as a youth band under the name Goodfellas evolved over more than two decades into a major force on the Leipzig rock scene, most recently as Polarock. In 2025, following a change in the band’s lineup, they renamed themselves PolaroX—as a sign of continuity, but also of change.
Musically, PolaroX moves confidently between alternative and modern rock, with audible influences from Foo Fighters, The Killers, Beatsteaks, and Bush. Different musical styles collide, creating excitement in their songwriting. The lyrics are mostly in English, with some in German—depending on what each song calls for.
In late November 2025, the band—now a four-piece—entered the studio with producer Tassilo Männer. There, they recorded the album “Alive”: newly arranged songs, clearly tailored to the current lineup, brimming with palpable energy and a sense of ease. The title seems almost casually apt—because even after 26 years of band history, PolaroX sounds anything but routine; rather, they sound alert, present, and agile.
Experience from band contests, performances with “Jennifer Rostock,” appearances in the Emergenza finals, and a long shared history are not a burden here, but rather a foundation. Today, PolaroX sounds like a band that knows where it comes from—and that’s exactly why it’s moving forward.
The new album “alive” is available on all major streaming services. On Saturday, PolaroX will perform their new and old songs and, together with “Rising Sons,” will ensure an unforgettable evening.
