After being there for her children for the last seven years and setting up a cultural café in Berlin, Hannah Permanetter finally wanted to make music again. The longing was great. It was time to pick up the thread again. Now, after a long break, she is releasing the EP "Standing On The Moon" with her band Port Noo.
Here, Hannah Permanetter indulges in her influences from a wide range of genres and eras, playing acoustic guitar like Joni Mitchell or electric guitar like Kim Deal, using backing vocals sometimes like Aretha Franklin, sometimes like the Beach Boys or approaching her heroes of the late 90s - Portishead, Gomez and Beck - via synth bass. While Permanetter's melancholy voice, her penchant for pop melodies and her self-critical and time-critical lyrics warm us up and make us think or even smile.
As with her first album "In The Middle Of Everything" from 2017, Permanetter once again had a good hand in finding like-minded collaborators. Actresses Rebecca Motzel and Paula Leitner joined as backing vocalists, former Lemonbabies bassist Barbara Mayer ended her 20-year musical slumber[Anne von Keller (Sorry Gilberto) took over on bass] and drummer-influencer Martina Barakoska, who had recently moved to Berlin, couldn't resist the allure of the Port Noo songs either.
... Hannah Permanetter founded her first all-girl alternative pop band Angel's Delight in 1991 at the age of 13 and has been active as a musician ever since - with the indie folk-pop band Dear Henry Bliss, the songwriter supergroup The Stewardesses and the electro-indie artpop band Guidebooks, among others.

Hanna Fearns is releasing her new record "Are you alright" in May on the great Cologne label Le Pop.
Here are a few press reviews of the previous album Turn on the Light:
A better record with "folk-noir" and alternative country tones from German lands has not been heard (...) for several years. (Hamburger Abendblatt)
"Fearns shines between cloudy folk-rock and country noir, brilliantly covers Beck, Vic Chesnutt and Big Star, but also writes some great songs of his own." 4 **** (Rolling Stone)
""Turn On The Light" is one of the surprises of this fall (...) With her charisma, the atmospheric songs and a wonderfully warm, sleepy timbre, Fearns carries this record." (STERN.de)
