In the organizer's words:

Premiere: America is not that big

Experience a journey through history by traveling with us to New York to see just how big America can really be. "America is not that big!" challenges you to look at the homeland and migration from a new perspective.

In a museum hall surrounded by old figureheads, real characters are summoned from the hidden depths of history to tell their story.

Inspired by the picture archive of the 19th and 20th centuries, the story tells of two German immigrants waiting in New York harbor for a ship from Hamburg. They want to find out whether New York is the end of the world or whether the emigration continues.

Author: Maryam Goudarzi; Director: Pouyan Ghafari; Cast: Cornelia Dörr, Thorsten Brand.

Funded by the Hamburg Ministry of Culture and Media.
